Entrance Gate Ambience & Front Perimeter Fence donated by Class of 1993

The Ambience Gate and Front Perimeter Fence Give back Project was conceptualized and donated by the Class of 1993 set of Ogbona Secondary School, with Mrs Joan Amanesi Egwuonwu nee Anaweokhai as the Project Lead.

The idea was borne out of the need to fence our school which measures approximately 1.5 kilometers in total, and to protect it from the activities of land poachers and speculators. The Class settled on constructing the front perimeter fence of approximately 0.5 kilometers (500 meters) and Ambience Gate Entrance as a way of enhancing the prestige and dignity of our Alma Mater and probably attract further attention from Government for those coming after us. We are amenable to extending the fencing to the approximately one kilometer yet to be fenced portions, if we can source funds from people of goodwill.

So far, this project is turning out to be the much-needed catalyst that has energized and excited the whole community to what is possible when individuals rise up to develop society, as the government alone cannot do it all. Going by the out pouring of love towards this project, the buzz generated by the grand handover ceremony, we are hopeful this will energize other classes and stakeholders to step up and embark on other value-added developmental initiatives.

The Grand Handover Ceremony of Class 1993 Give Back Legacy Project to the school, held on Monday, December 27th, 2021.
