Mr. Gilbert Erelumhe Isimape Odior

Mr. Gilbert Erelumhe Isimape Odior retired as the Exploration Manager, Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (EEPNL) in 2015. He holds a MSc. Petroleum Geology and BSc in Geology from University of Ibadan, Oyo State.

A proud son of Ogbona, Gilbert enlisted the help of ExxonMobil EEPNL in 2005 towards construction of a new school building for Ogbona Secondary School, as part of the company’s Community Development initiatives.

Despite several revisions of the initiative and scope of beneficiary communities, Gilbert worked hard at ensuring that Ogbona Secondary School made the final list. The new building comprising 15 furnished classrooms, staff offices, three equipped science laboratories (physics, chemistry and biology) etc, was formerly handed over to the school December 27th 2021.

Among other accomplishments, Gilbert is credited with developing the Exciting World of Geology for Geoscience career talk for Senior Secondary schools which has been delivered to over 200 schools across Africa through American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Africa Region Young Professionals. He donated medical books covering various subjects and general knowledge to Ogbona Secondary School.

Gilbert belongs to many professional associations and served as President Nigeria Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) 2004-2005 and President AAPG 2012-2014.

He is universally acknowledged for his humanitarian efforts and leadership qualities. When not focusing on how to bequeath a better legacy, Gilbert finds pleasure in taking long walks with his wife and playing with his grandchildren.

Thank you Mr Gilbert Odior for your selfless, matchless and ongoing support for the progress our school through the Ogbona Elite Forum that you presently lead.
